Our Commitment to Inclusion and Respect:

Shack is a community of students and young professionals brought together by their individual needs for student housing. Our community thrives off a set of shared and reasonable principles that bind us to inclusion and respect. All Shack users are entitled to use of the Shack Platform to bring students around the world closer together, while helping each other ease the financial burden of student housing. Today, colleges and universities are incredibly diverse communities, drawing together individuals of different cultures, values, and norms. The Shack community is committed to building a world where people from every background feel welcome and respected.

Shack recognizes that some jurisdictions do permit distinctions among individuals based on certain factors. In these circumstances, Shack will refer to the precedent set by that jurisdiction; however, this is a strict and unforgiving policy. Case by case guidelines will govern these instances, and should they become detrimental to the Shack platform, Shack reserves the right to freeze, disband, or withhold all rights of communication through the platform as well as determine the future rights of the user's Shack account. We ask that all users, treat each other with the respect and integrity they would like to be treated with.

We aim to please all Shack users, and have every intention of creating a safe, egalitarian, and useful service.
